While there are thousands of companies out there who deal with servicing and fixing furnaces, it's difficult to find anyone who knows about boilers. Bill and Epp's Custom Heating and Air came highly recommended to me by someone who had a boiler replaced by them, so I called to have our 45 year old boiler looked at. In the 24 years I've lived in my home, I've never had a person who knows about boilers look at it , therefore, it was never cleaned the right way....we've done it ourselves, oiled the pump, and prayed every year it would be make it through the winter. I wasn't sure we'd be able to "limp" it through another year, as it started making some pretty loud banging noises last winter. I was afraid to turn it on unless it was absolutely necessary. Even so, I was hoping not to have to replace it this year, and I expressed that to Bill on the phone when I called for an appointment. He said "don't worry, we'll take care of you". Yesterday, as he was walking in my door, he assured me he'd be able to help as long as the boiler wasn't leaking...... it wasn't, and he did what he promised! He was very patient with me and answered all of my questions. It turned out the boiler needed adjustments, cleaning and a couple parts. When he didn't have the parts with him last night, he came back as promised (today) to install them. My boiler is no longer banging and now I feel safer when it's working. Bill is very knowledgeable and I can tell he loves what he does by his enthusiasm when he talks about it. He really knows his stuff. I will definitely recommend him to everyone I know who needs help with their heating/air issues!
