My first time getting my hair done at African Queen braiding shop. I love the way Cecelia did my twist and I will return. Cecelia was professional, considerate and respectful. She asked me questions to ensure she did my hair the way I wanted it. I was very pleased and satisfied with the outcome of the way my hair looked. Thank you Cecelia.

Unprofessional and Rude. Will take your deposit and then cancel your appointment after you book it and CONFIRM it. They double booked my appointment and then cancelled on me to give my slot to someone else (for the second time) and after I hung up the lady kept texting me afterwards going off on me for saying it was unprofessional. My appointment was booked & confirmed on a Wednesday and was cancelled on Friday, the day before. Professional is not cancelling appointments at the last minute and it certainly isn't harassing ex-customers over text after after they hang up. I only come here as a last resort when I can't find an urgent braid appointment. If you have healthy natural hair this is not the place for you. They know and care nothing about hair health and will break your hair off. The last time I was here a woman wet my hair and then used a straightening brush on it. I had earbuds in so I couldn't hear the sizzling of my hair until halfway through. If you don't want edges anymore this is the place for you. They braid every little hair on your head. The only positives about this place is that they are quick and they supply the hair. But even the hair is a problem, the type of synthetic hair they use is very very very itchy and causes irritation of the scalp.

I had to give 1 star to comment. But they get 0 stars!!! I use to like them but every I went back it got worse. I had the new lady once and it was horrible. She is learning as she braids on you!! So I requested the other 2 since and they speak in their language the entire time and it makes you feel like their talking about you. You can't speak up or make suggestions about your own hair. They begin in the back of your head so you can't see what their doing. They do one braid and after paying a deposit you must pay the balance up front. 9/16/24 is the last time I patronize this establishment. My birthday is on 9/20 and I really don't like my hair. My braids are uneven and for the price they are not long enough!!😡😡

Not only do they require you to make a $50 deposit, but after they complete 5 braids they ask for full payment. I initially went in for Bob goddess braids and they told me my hair was too long. My natural hair is about Bob length. They charged an extra fee for having long hair although my hair is no where near long. Here’s the final gag I’m sure they had a new person braiding my hair as she didn’t seem to know what she was doing. My hair also didn’t look like “Africans” did it. It looked like a beginner braided! I was charged $250 and my braids were horrible and didn’t even last a month. I do not recommend this establishment!!

Con artist that can braid, trying to get the most out of you that they can. You'd be better off going on the marketplace and finding someone to braid your hair in their kitchen. They got me for $250 on what should have been a $190 style. Never thought I would miss Atlanta braiders.

I would leave 0 stars if possible. The are not clear with their prices leaving you to pay exorbitant prices. I ended up paying $250 for $190 style. My braids don't even come to my butt. Find someplace else.
