My 10-year old son was diagnosed with something called serum sickness, in reaction to an antibiotic he took for strep. After two rounds of prednisone and antihistamines, he didn't seem to be getting any better. He suffered from terrible joint pain, hives all over his body, and facial swelling. When the doctor told us he needed a stronger dose of prednisone for a longer time, my husband and I sought alternative treatment, because we didn't want to continue to subject his little body to more steroids. Dr. Katin treated him with a combination of herbs, probiotics and acupuncture. By the end of a week, he was well enough to allow him to go to overnight camp, which was our big question during his illness. Thank you, Dr. Katin!
