My kids, husband, and in-laws have been going to Avenue Hair for decades. I had been sticking to my fancy salons, but decided to try out Gaby at Avenue, because I loved how she cut my MIL’s hair. So worth it! Not only is Avenue a fraction of the fancy salon price, but for the first time ever someone random off the street came up to me to take pics of my hair because they wanted a similar cut. True story!
I don’t usually write reviews, but Avenue Hair in Evanston deserves a shoutout. First of all, the vibe in there is great - stylish without being snobby, chill without feeling like nobody cares. It’s the sweet spot. An iconic place in the Northshore, really. My girl Sharon actually listened to what I wanted, asked thoughtful questions, and didn’t just nod and then do whatever she felt like - major points for that. The whole appointment felt relaxed but super intentional. I left with a cut that made me feel like a better, more put-together version of myself. My hair was bouncy. My confidence was up. I mean it when I say it, this is the best hair salon in Evanston and maybe even the whole Chicagoland area! I've been coming here for my whole life, and never once had any issues with the many experienced barbers and stylists they have. John is incredible, always friendly and really knows what he's doing. They have a kids area as well so you can bring the young ones while you get your hair cut. Walk-ins are welcome too, which has saved me a couple times. Overall I can't recommend Avenue Hair enough!
