The woman who owns this shop is a wonderful, patient, and kind lady ! My son was diagnosed with Autism at age 5. When he was younger, it was easy to hold him in my lap and gently restrain him for haircuts. As he got older, haircuts got more difficult. One afternoon, we had a particularly bad experience at a local well known chain salon. He was not cooperative at all. He was screaming, writhing, and putting his hands up to swat the scissors away. The Beautician got so frazzled and stopped mid cut, saying she wouldn't continue. We left, both of us in tears. I was driving home feeling completely defeated when I passed Super Cuts. Being on Devon Ave. I knew it was a culturally diverse business. Honestly, and I mean this in the most respectful way, my first thought was that maybe a strong Middle Eastern woman won't be intimidated by my son's behavior. We went in. I explained to the shop owner about my son's sensory issues and behaviors. She kindly said, "ok, no problem." My son was terrible, I mean it. He did not cooperate at all. Somehow, someway, she finished his haircut. I apologized profusely for the difficulty. She said, "it wasn't so bad you come back again." I joked with her that she was a liar, we shared a good laugh. Ten years later, my son is 15 now and walks to her shop by himself to get his haircuts. I will forever be grateful for this lady.
The barbers here are very friendly and offer pretty solid haircuts especially given their unbeatable prices. I haven't found any other place in Chicago that comes anywhere close to a $7 men's cut
Was visiting Devon Ave for Indian food and grocery shopping and while walking on the street stumbled upon this shop. Their pricing for hair cuts was super attractive that drew me in: - $5 for men - $10 for women I certainly needed a cut and my girlfriend was wondering if they could do a $5 cut for her as well as she just needed a little trimming. The lady who did her cut was super nice and agreed to do that for the cheaper pricing. I also got a haircut, my first one in the US that I actually liked compared to those $25-$32 cuts I have received in regular salons but never found satisfying. It was overall a really nice and relaxing experience and I would certainly visit again.
