We've since moved out of Chicago, but I've been meaning to leave this review for a while because Ruben's really deserves it. Javier was my barber and always did a great job, consistent, careful cuts every time. Ruben himself cut my young son's hair many times too and was always patient and great with him. It's the kind of place where you actually trust the person with the clippers, which isn't easy to find. We miss getting our cuts there and would recommend them to anyone in the area!
We had a wonderful experience at Ruben’s Barber Shop for my 2-year-old son’s very first haircut! The staff was so kind, efficient, and exceptionally patient with him. They had a child booster seat that propped him up comfortably for the cut. The shop itself is clean, beautiful, and well-organized. He has mixed, curly, textured hair, and they handled it with fantastic skill and care. It was such a great first memory—we took tons of photos and will definitely be coming back for all his future haircuts!
Cesar has cut my hair for years, and now he provides cuts for my two young sons. He's the best in the game!
