I come once a month for maintenance now. I started about 15 years ago with complaints about sciatica. Dr. Balen put me through treatments and the pain has been gone for years. Every once in a while my body gets misaligned because I miss treatments. However, once I return Dr. Balen gets things back to normal. I also had an issue that had me hospitalized. The doctors couldn’t find anything wrong with me despite the fact that I thought I was having heart attacks. Dr. Balen evaluated me and found I had some ribs that were squeezing a nerve that created that feeling. After a few treatments the pain was gone. I will continue going as long as I am alive. It’s like changing the oil in my car. Necessary maintenance to get the most out of my body.
I’ve been coming to Dr. Balan for 3 years after I found her during my 2nd year of medical school. She helped me recover from several neck injuries as well as just the typical back and neck pain that comes from school stress. I also have incredibly flat feet and I was able to get orthotics from her that enabled me to stand for hours on end in the operating room. I cannot speak highly enough of her. To make it even better, her staff, Wanda and Janet, are just about the sweetest, happiest people I have ever met. I would look forward to my appointments just to have a chance to catch up with them while I waited. I am leaving Chicago for a new job and am so sad to think about finding a new chiropractor after I move.
