I transitioned to working from home 2+ years ago. Things people don't tell you - chairs & ergonomics are beyond important. Not knowing this, I figured my current chair would be fine. I couldn't be more wrong... & found myself completely UNFINE by summer of this year. After asking around in my virtual office, the Herman Miller Aeron & Embody were the most talked about & praised. Yes, I know... "bUT tHe CoST tHo" many would say. Others swore by these two chairs & fortunate for me, there's a showroom in Chicago. Sorry, I can't spend this much & not see-sit in it first. Parking is an extreme challenge in this area, so be patient. I was determined - I made it this far, so I'm just going to keep circling. This took roughly 20 minutes. Once inside, I was greeted warmly but not pressured at all. I appreciated this - I'm new to ergo seating & I just wanted to have a look around. Take my time, & try out their offerings. There are MANY. Looks are also very deceiving! The Sayl looked strange but was insanely comfortable. Aeron? I see why people love this one. There were so many options to try. I sat in the Logitech Embody for quite a long time. I was concerned because I am but a tiny person & no, my feet typically don't touch the floor on the lowest setting sometimes. These chairs didn't have these issues & every one I sat in was so comfortable, it was shocking. I needed some time to process as this would be hefty purchase. For anyone on the fence or just curious, I can't recommend coming here enough. No, it's not your average office chair but your back will thank you. I have great insurance but I'd rather stay out of my chiro's office if I can help it. How did the story end? I went with the Logitech Embody as I work & game at my desk. It's worth every penny - my back pain was significantly reduced after the first day, gone by the second. Herman Miller's customer service is also amazing & I have no regrets. It's an investment if you work from home & worth looking into. Thanks Herman Miller!
We were planning to get new furnitures for our home office and already knew what we gonna get. We decided to visit the showroom because we were dining in the West Loop and I'm so glad we did it! Ben Childers helped us to place the order and because it was a long wait for my order but every time I email Ben he responses promptly and being super polite. He even helped out with my Design Within Reach online order! It was a great time working with Ben and I just can't say enough good things about Ben. Now we know we will visit the showroom or reach out to him directly for the future orders.
