I've attended a variety of ballet, contemporary/modern, and jazz classes over the years at this studio - and found it to be a wonderful community space for adults to dance. The studio is more geared toward beginner and intermediate levels of experience - however the teachers are also welcoming and accommodating of more advanced students.

This studio is amazing! They have a wide range of class offerings and levels, so whether you are brand new to dance or looking for something at the intermediate/advanced level, you will probably find something that fits your goals. All the teachers are talented dance professionals and are very skilled at bringing beginners up to speed while keeping the class moving. Also, the students are welcoming and there is a wonderful sense of community. There are also special events held throughout the year that are great for new students.
Because this studio is a nonprofit, the rates are very reasonable and the classes are on a drop-in basis with a flexible cancellation... read full review

I have found Glenwood Dance Studio to be a much needed component in not only the Far Northside Chicago area, but in the arts community in general. Started by a group of dance students with no extensive professional experience, GDS has managed to cultivate and grow pretty much exactly what a good dance studio should be: a welcoming space with a variety of classes taught by capable and professional instructors.
GDS is an adults-only studio which can be nice for students who are in a different headspace than their younger contemporaries. This also means that class times are purposefully created to be accommodating to most’s usual 9-5 weekday schedule.... read full review
