About Glenwood Dance Studio
Glenwood Dance Studio is a non-profit organization located in the Rogers Park neighborhood, offering a variety of dance classes for adult students of all levels and abilities. Classes are available in the evenings and on weekends, with options including ballet, tap, modern, contemporary, jazz, ballroom, salsa, musical theater, and BeMoved dance fitness. The studio also honors class spots even if a student has to miss a class. In addition to classes, Glenwood Dance Studio is available to rent for dance rehearsals. The Tango classes at Glenwood Dance Studio are particularly enjoyable, with instructors Katie and Eugene providing kind, supportive instruction and a thorough knowledge of the dance. Overall, Glenwood Dance Studio is an excellent choice for adult dance classes in the city.
I've attended a variety of ballet, contemporary/modern, and jazz classes over the years at this studio - and found it to be a wonderful community space for adults to dance. The studio is more geared toward beginner and intermediate levels of experience - however the teachers are also welcoming and accommodating of more advanced students.
This studio is amazing! They have a wide range of class offerings and levels, so whether you are brand new to dance or looking for something at the intermediate/advanced level, you will probably find something that fits your goals. All the teachers are talented dance professionals and are very skilled at bringing beginners up to speed while keeping the class moving. Also, the students are welcoming and there is a wonderful sense of community. There are also special events held throughout the year that are great for new students.

I have found Glenwood Dance Studio to be a much needed component in not only the Far Northside Chicago area, but in the arts community in general. Started by a group of dance students with no extensive professional experience, GDS has managed to cultivate and grow pretty much exactly what a good dance studio should be: a welcoming space with a variety of classes taught by capable and professional instructors.
