I’ve been three times now since the new owners. The first in Wicker Park. The stylist had just gone on a smoking break and so his hands smelled like cigarette smoke. I asked if he could wash them and he got offended. I tried southport now twice. The first was with a male stylist. He did a nice job of styling however the head massage was him just shaking my head. Not what I had anticipated. The second was with a female stylist. Her head massage was great however the style was just ok. It took over an hour. I feel since new ownership, the services has declined. It’s less professional and definitely not as good. I will not be returning.

I got a silk press with Kristin and it was an amazing experience. My hair was soft and bouncy and she was very knowledgeable. I also loved the relaxing, easy going environment. I'm elated to have found a great salon/ stylist in my neighborhood that could care for my hair type. I usually have to drive so far away.

Went in for the deluxe blowout with Kristin and it was amazing! She was so kind and very informative. I think it's a great value for what you get with a treatment, trim, and style. Kristin is so meticulously and really took her time doing and reshaping my hair. She understood curly hair which is very important and often not done great. I love the trim and how she helped me reshape for more straight styles. She was also very kind.
