After reading the reviews, I was apprehensive about staying here. The Wade is a great place to stay while visiting Chicago. Will ay check in, is very attentive and friendly. Anna Marie at the breakfast is the same. A very friendly stuff. Streeterville is a great area in Chicago and the location cannot be any more perfect. The room was very clean and comfortable. I still have a few more days here and will update if necessary.
From arriving at the door to check out, the staff were accommodating and friendly. We booked a city view room but found we were in a lake view with a beautiful view of Navy Pier and the beach. We were able to watch the fireworks from our couch! One downfall is that we were very close to the elevator and could hear the mechanics of those although eventually they were not as busy at night. We had plenty of room and slept well. Appreciated the mini fridge. Complementary coffee fresh in the lobby was a nice surprise. The pool is basic but good size with a small outdoor deck. Plenty of seating. There is a fairly good size gym area that looked nice although we did not use it....read full review
I really think twice when I leave less than a 4 star review. The location and views of the lake are amazing and it was clean, so I am still going with an overall 4. But it was touch and go and here is why: absolutely no bath towels in my bathroom (discovered when I was about to get in the shower), conditioner was a bottle of lotion (an honest mistake I'm sure), and there is nowhere to put your personal items in the shower, so I had to throw all my things on the floor. I was there for five nights and sometimes was left fresh bottles of water when housekeeping came, sometimes not. Things were just generally inconsistent.
