Alchemia Art of Hair, established in 2015 and located in Chicago's Uptown area, is now also offering skincare services in addition to its well-known hair treatments. Situated in The Somerset Building, the salon provides hair cutting, texturizing, styling, and color enhancement at affordable prices. The passionate staff takes time to discuss clients' hair care, daily life, and style, working towards creating desired images while improving hair health and shine. Recently, the salon introduced facial treatments, including a firming peptide facial, which clients have praised for its relaxing experience and noticeable skin improvement. Teddy, the esthetician, is appreciated for being professional, kind, and informative, making facial sessions both enjoyable and effective. The salon is also recognized as a welcoming, queer-friendly space that offers a relaxing environment for a spa day.
This was my first time seeing Xander, but it definitely won’t be my last. He has great energy and so many thoughtful ideas. I’ve always had really thick hair, but it’s thinned out quite a bit over the past year. He showed me how to style it so it looks fuller and my scalp is no longer visible. I’m so happy I found my go-to hair person. 🙏
Scheduled a last minute cut I was overdue. Eli is newer and did my cut and color. I had some discolored hair from a temp dye that I tried during Covid. They did a great job color matching. There were interesting stories the whole time and they paid close attention to their work. It's a very casual inclusive vibe that makes sense for the neighborhood. It was a bit of a longer service but they forewarned me due to them being newer. Give them a try and help build their clientele!
