About LA Fitness

LA Fitness offers a variety of amenities at a good value, including state-of-the-art equipment, basketball, group fitness classes, a pool, saunas, and a Kids Klub. The gym employs a cleaning staff that works hard to maintain clean and sanitized facilities. The front desk staff is friendly and greets members during weekdays. The general manager, Trent, is praised for his leadership.

Many members enjoy the community feel at LA Fitness and appreciate the kindness of the staff. The FLEX BAR is highlighted as a favorite feature, making workouts easier and more accessible. However, there are some areas for improvement. Some machines have been out of order for a couple of months, and there are complaints about dumbbells being in disarray, making it hard to find specific weights like the 20lb dumbbells.

Additionally, some reviewers mention issues with other members playing loud music, not wearing masks, hogging equipment, and not re-racking weights. It is suggested that gym management should address these behaviors. There is also a desire for more sanitizing spray bottles and better quality gym wipes.

Despite these challenges, personal trainers at LA Fitness receive positive feedback. One reviewer mentions their trainer, Kevin, for his professionalism and flexibility with busy schedules. Overall, LA Fitness is a good gym with a supportive community and staff, but there are issues with member behavior and equipment maintenance that management could improve.

I had to start going to this gym because the elmhurst location got shut down. This gym is crazy busy. The amount of equipment and machines are solid but the amount of people is insane. Forget about getting a workout in during the week. Guess it’s time to start looking for another gym

Gym has been completely redone. Top tier equipment full implementation. Basketball court gone. Now the space is filled with a whole leg room. Rogue squat racks, belt squats, glute machines, leg press. Best la fitness in the chicago area now..

I love the new renovations—they’ve made the gym feel fresh and welcoming. I actually look forward to coming in now. Matt and Quincy are always helpful and go out of their way to make sure you have what you need. The front desk staff is generally pleasant, especially the men, but one of the young women could improve her communication with members. Other than that I would have given it a 5 star review.
