Front tire cut on I-55 bridge from St.Louis into Illinois. Had to take Hwy 3 into one of the top crime zones of the country. The tow driver knew the area and exactly where I was sitting. He recovered me and my car in 15 minutes. Took great care with loading my Tesla and dropping it safely in O’Fallon, IL. A knowledgeable and friendly tow truck driver. Not sure $420 was fair or market rate for 8:30pm on Friday and towing 16 miles. I realize loading and unloading labor is a more static fee. I’d call them again in the same situation but I’m going to look into AAA.
Unfortunately, I had my Honda Odyssey drop dead on me whilst driving on I-64. After pulling over safely, I needed a tow and got lucky in having the guys from Tactical Towing answer my call. They were professional, courteous, and quick in responding. The heat index was over 100 degrees so fast service was much appreciated. The driver, Sky, brought cold water bottles and got me and my hoopty van to the auto body shop. Thanks to the folks at Tactical. If I ever need a tow again, these guys are my first call.
