I have been wanting to go to a pancake breakfast for quite some time, pre-pandemic. Don't ask me why; I'm weird, I guess? Anyway, this weekend I headed to this AL post in Arlington Heights because I saw they were having one. There were lots of folks there--it's popular! For $10 ($5 for kids & veterans) there's eggs, hash browns, pancakes, French toast, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and fruit. Water, orange juice, and coffee as well. I think it's advertised as all you can eat and they did have quite a lot of food when I got there around 11:10. It was very good, folks were friendly, and I'd go again. This is an excellent website. This Post 981 is constantly working in the community and with veterans. Updates are provided on a timely basis to events and activities. Great meetings great work good times

The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States is a nonprofit veterans service organization comprised of eligible veterans and military service members from the active, guard and reserve forces. We trace our roots back to 1899 when veterans of the Spanish-American War (1898) and the Philippine Insurrection (1899-1902) founded local organizations to secure rights and benefits for their service. Many arrived home wounded or sick. There was no medical care or veterans' pension for them. Today, membership stands at more than 1.5 million members of the VFW and its Auxiliary. We have many programs and services that work to support veterans, service members and their families. Our motto is "No One Does More For Veterans"
