Our brick porch columns had been looking rough for a couple years. the mortar was crumbling on the bottom sections and one column had a slight lean, probably from the freeze-thaw cycles we get. The mortar between the bricks on the front of our house had been crumbling for probably two years before I finally did something about it. Not huge chunks falling off, but enough that it was clearly deteriorating. Got a quote from GX Brick Paving and the crew walked me through what tuckpointing actually involves, which I didn't fully understand before. They matched the mortar color closely to the original, which was a relief since our house has a weird pinkish-tan tone. The work took a out a day and a half for the whole front and part of the sidewall that wraps toward the garage.
