Their shipping department is unrivaled. Packaged to perfection and quality all the way. We have never had any problems with this company. Their quotes are good for way longer than anyone else I've worked with, their sales department is so very nice too! Customer for life.
They have a good selection of steel and dimensions for a good price if you can handle a long shipping time while playing email ping pong while they figure out your shipping price. In my experience with them, the average time for them to ship my order has been about two and a half weeks to 3 weeks but has reached over a month at times. Most orders suprise me when they arrive because, at that point, I've completely forgotten I'd ordered it.Along side my last order from them over 2 weeks ago, I also ordered from another supplier. My order from the other supplier arrived within a week and Admiral has just now figured out the final shipping price on my order today.If knife making is just a hobby these guys are fine but I dont think they're too interested in catering to smiths. So if this is your career, i wouldn't count on them to be a reliable supplier for your buisness.
Right now it seems like most of my time is spent dealing with difficult vendors and supply chain disruptions. In the chaos that has been the last few months, my order went as smooth as silk. The steel arrived in perfect condition, packed very well, and the steel was nicely oiled. Not a scratch on it which is amazing for a 528# pack! Dealing with Natasha in sales was also a pleasure and Admiral's 7 day CWT price quote (other vendors change CWT daily and wait days to respond to emails, so budgeting an order is all over the place). All around, this was a great shopping experience and we sure appreciate them all from production, to sales, to shipping.
