Pend Oreille Veterinary Service is a trusted provider of advanced veterinary care in Sandpoint, North Idaho. Since 1964, they have served the community with eight fully accredited veterinarians and state-of-the-art technology. The veterinary service offers a wide range of services including boarding, play groups, grooming, and training at their Pet Lodge. One client was impressed with the care and compassion shown during a "geriatric dog emergency" visit, noting that the staff provided a comprehensive exam and bloodwork at a reasonable cost. Another long-time customer highlighted the excellent care provided by Dr. Ponsness, especially for their golden puppies. Sadly, one customer had to bring their German shepherd, Loki, in for emergency surgery due to bloat, and while Loki did not survive, the customer was grateful for the love and care provided by Dr. Ponsness and the entire team.
I went with a friend for a geriatric dog "emergency" visit. I was beyond impressed with the care and compassion the staff had. Most vets would have wanted to run a ton of expensive tests on a 14 year old, and we would have done all of it. Not these guys. They did a comprehensive exam and bloowork. The entire visit with meds was under $300. And Kia is doing absolutely amazing today! Highly recommend 5 paws!
I had to bring in my dog Loki (German shepherd) for emergency surgery due to him getting bloat. He made it out of surgery but unfortunately passed away that night/early morning. I am so greatful for Dr. Ponsness and the amazing team that helped him. Everyone was so kind and caring. I am forever grateful for all of the love and care this team provides. Thank you Dr. Ponsness and team again for all of the love and care you provided to not only Loki but all of the babies that come into see you.
We have use this Veterinary Service on occasion when our usual Veterinarian was closed, or for more detailed services such as Ultrasounds of our dogs. We have always been impressed with their services. We are in the process of breeding our dogs, I will provide updates on our experiences after our dog's puppies are born.
