Edit to review: Ember became lethargic and voided his bowels and his breathing was very labored and fast. We took him to the emergency vet and blood tests showed he had congestive heart failure and the steroids likely exacerbated his condition. There was nothing to be done to help him and we had to make the worst decision ever to let him go to end his body's suffering.
The lesson to be learned is that you need to do your research before you give your animal any kind of irreversible injection. We now know that heart disease in cats is very easily masked and it is important to have tests done to ensure that your cat is healthy.
Dr. Parish is amazing. She knows how much we care about our pets and her attitude and actions reflect that care. I am thoroughly confident in her abilities and opinions regarding what is best for my pet.
