Through an online search for a “great stylist in CDA, ID” I found Kiela at Hair’s the Thing. Fortunately, she had some rave reviews behind her name! I’ve been needing a good haircut for quite sometime. Kiela listened and efficiently sculpted my hair back to the specifics that I requested. Her creative salon, pleasant personality and obvious expertise are a refreshing discovery! Thanks Kiela! I’m looking forward to my next appointment ‘;)

Requested style: Blunt cut with scissors, NO razor.
Feathered bangs.
Texturized nape and area behind bangs.
Nape area cups in slightly. A little length left at bottom.

I have to say the more times I go to Kiela (several years now), the better and healthier my hair becomes. It always looks fabulous, right after and up to the day I return to her. It amazes me when she says, your hair is always so healthy. I don't do anything special, but allow her to do her thing and that's hair. I highly recommend this expert stylist. Another situation that has occurred more than once....."I am not going to just do something to your hair for $$, if I don't think you need it, I will not". How many do you know have done that?..

I was surprised by Kiela’s response Yes I definitely WAS a client. It took a lot for me to summon up the courage to even post a review. My nickname is Coco. My hair broke off in a clump at about 4-5 inches from the crown. Apparently my hair got fried by the highlight mixture. It took me years to grow my hair out to my waist. Now I’m starting all over again. I’m amazed that no remorse was shown in the response.

I wasn’t sure if I should leave a review, but my friends have encouraged me to do so. I saw Kiela 3 times. My hair was down to my waist. I had blonde highlights done. I had my previous hairstylist for two decades. When I told Kiela the mix she used she gave me a negative reaction and said it was ruining my hair. Well whatever Kiela used definitely ruined my hair. I started seeing angel hair right away. I didn’t realize it was breakage. But after the third time when my hair broke off all over my head I knew it was whatever she was doing/using. I barely had any hair on the back of my head. I was in tears for months. I will never trust another hairstylist.
Also I got very tired of the last minute cancellations and rescheduling.
She seemed very pleasant … I have just been hoping not to run into her around town.

Expert in her field! I trust her doing a cut and full highlights - she never disappoints! Lovely lady!

Specialties: Anything hair related however, specifically the Brazilian blowout and coloring hair, is when you can truly see her expertise shine!

Kiela Long you are not only amazing with scissors and dyes, actually I will say you’re a fricken “wizard” with the scissors and coloring hair…but you’re also amazing with a paintbrush and drill! You blow my mind with the accomplishments I’ve seen you overcome! You’ve created a clients haven, in your studio! When I go see you to get my Hair's done, I instantly feel comfortable in the space you’ve created! I’ve told you many times that I’m amazed at what you can do & have done! I have no idea how long we’ve been friends but it’s been a MINUTE! Love your friendship, your wizardry with hair and I completely appreciate the haven you’ve made for me and your clients!!!

Kiela did a good job cutting my hair (not easy to do). But in the last 3 years she has cancelled my appointments more often than not. I will not be returning to her because the last time she cancelled me twice before a trip, so no haircut for the trip. Then she has the audacity to ask her clients for money because one of her dogs was sick and she was short on money. Most people are feeling pinched by the economy right now but they don't go asking for money when they are always canceling their client's appointments.

Kiela is always welcoming, her shop is spotless, and she cuts a style that suits my hair's growth patterns and texture. ( I am older with thinning hair on top and natural waves.) Thank you, Kiela, for helping me hold my head up high, everywhere I go!
