I just began volunteering in October at Miracles in Motion outside of swisher, Iowa. I am a retired Cardiac nurse who has also worked with developmentally disabled people, autistic people, and of course injured people.I am proud to be part of this organization that works with our community to provide services to all of these same people including disabled veterans!!!This is a nonprofit organization and I encourage everyone to be involved in some way to support them in their service to the community!!!!The joy they provide through horses while providing therapy is multiplied by interaction with the horses who provide core strength and endurance just by gently walking and... read full review

Miracles in Motion is a non-profit that offers therapeutic horse riding/hippotherapy to kids and adults with physical and mental challenges, along with at-risk youth. It is a fantastic program! The staff are all amazing, super friendly, supportive, warm and caring!I volunteered here in 2003 with AmeriCorps*NCCC. Sue Bock is or at least was the owner at that time. My team was camping/living at a nearby campground run by the Army Corps of Engineers (if my memory serves me correctly) and I don't remember what months we were there but it was freezing- so much so that both Sue Bock & her husband, along with another amazing employee/volunteer by the name of Joyce opened... read full review

Wonderful instructors, wonderful horses, wonderful facility. I don't know how it works, but it has been the most effective therapy for my autistic son that we have experienced.Really fun place to volunteer also if you like horses and helping kids and veterans one- on one. Music happens right before your eyes.
