I am not going to hesitate giving a five star review for fixing a draining issue that I had. They came on a holiday to get our problem solved.
This is a long one so be prepared. Best vet and clinic around. The compassion is just unmatched. It’s hard to talk about, but I’ve had 2 big experiences here and because of that I will never go to another vet as long as I live in Greene County. First one was my senior pug, Pickles, 12 years old this month. She lost all use of her back legs in about 5 days time. When I took her here, I was just switching from another vet I wasn't as happy with. Dr. Fields assessed my pug and let me know what ALL of my options were, was very calm and compassionate (I swear every time I go in there I’m crying!) and she ended up treating her, even though it wasn’t looking good. Within 2 days she got a leg back, within 4 she was walking again. I’m now almost 3 months off of that and she is actually walking and jogging now (when she wants to) this dog is thriving and has even put on a few pounds she needed. She earned me a LOT of extra time with my girl! Every day is a bonus now, I thought she’d be gone by now. Second time was with my Frenchie, Eggs, or Eggy as I always called him. This one I have to spare details, still too hard.. But my poor boy had a massive seizure out of NOWHERE and unfortunately didn’t make it. He would’ve been 2 on May 16th. I drove him in without calling, I trusted them already and an ER was too far, and they dropped what they were doing to help immediately. But through the whole process, the staff was so kind and patient with me, explained everything that was happening to him and why no medication was working, and she did EVERYTHING she could to save him. I was a mess, in shock, totally devastated. But she worked with me, gave me the time I needed without letting my baby suffer any more than he already was. I got his ashes back today and, without going into detail, was surprised and really pleased with everything. Some of the things they gave me and did were so incredibly kind and above and beyond. THANK YOU Companion! You’ve really helped me with this pretty shocking loss and saved my other baby. Even just getting that little patch of fur.. it just killed me, but I’m forever going to be grateful for it. That was the best thing they could’ve done for me. The passion and kindness are unmatched here. We are so grateful for Dr. Fields and the work she does at Companion.
Easy to work with, I have a rather weird backyard set up and they had no problem customizing fencing to make it work for my dogs, highly recommend!

Jeremy, Ryan and the rest of the crew at Countywide did the electrical in our house and farm after a tornado ripped the place apart. Our rebuilt home has all new wiring, everything works wonderfully and their customer service is above and beyond. I highly recommend them to anyone needing work. Ryan was our main guy and he was kind to us all, thought of our needs...lights in rooms before we "needed" them so we could camp in our house before it was completed. (In reality they were probably for the construction crew but we used them to camp inside just to be home, once it was solid and safe) There is truly no place like home and Countywide got us there as fast as the rest of the construction would allow.Services: General construction

The owner is super kind and friendly. I had a great time talking with her as a first time customer. She listened to what I wanted and she really helped me relax since I was so nervous as a first timer. Also my nails came out looking amazing to top it off! Heidi is absolutely amazing! After trying a few places in Carroll to find a good massage therapist I found Heidi and I keep going back to her. She tailors the massage to my body, makes me feel absolutely comfortable, and I leave each time eager to schedule another appointment. You won't regret giving her a call to schedule an appointment!
Dan photographed my wedding in Des Moines. As a photographer myself, it’s often hard to trust other photographers, but I never really worried with him. He was thorough, confident, funny, and easy to talk to.My wife hates getting photos taken of her and she was relaxed, having fun, and also thought Dan was incredible. This is the ultimate compliment coming from her.Our wedding had some last minute weather issues, but Dan helped find an alternative photo location and went with the ever-changing timeline.During the first hour, Dan would show me the back of his camera at an image. I cannot thank Dave enough for his going the extra mile in customer service late Friday, September 3rd. When the surgeon informed me my husband would need a recliner to sit and sleep in. Dave assured us not only could he help us, but he stayed late at the store, gave us time to choose what would work for us and delivered it, set it up and taught Dennis how it functioned! Thank you very much.

On 04/17/26 I discovered my water heater was leaking. We called Sloan Plumbing and they were able to install a new water heater the same day. We also decided to have our toilet replaced. There were a few hiccups with the install, but the guys that did the work made sure it was done correctly. Awesome small town service!
I had a great experience here. Dryden did a fantastic job! It saved me the drive to Ames and I can now stay in town for one more thing!
I give credit to Ace Hardware, in Jefferson, for several reasons. There is a wide variety of product from fishing, plumbing, electrical, garden, grilling, and much more.
I would say the most important aspect in which is a huge factor is the staff there. I have never had an issue with getting help or anything. You are always greeted when entering.

I took my two girl cats to see Dr. Amy for their first vet visit. She was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. The team was patient with the kitties and handled them with care. Dr. Amy offered me great advice as I am a new cat owner. I thought their prices were very reasonable as well! We had a great experience with Dr. Amy and her staff!
