Been going there for over 40 years. Shorr wait for an appointment. I was late and they made it work. Exam was quick and he said unless I wanted new glasses there was enough change to justify replacing the lens. Customer first as always. Not the cheapest but the best.

I had a great experience at McDonald Optical. I was always helped soon after I walked in. Everyone was respectful and professional. The prices are great compared to some other places in Iowa City. I found a pair of frames and had my glasses in hand within two weeks. Plus, I got a huge student discount on my lenses. I think I ended up only paying $75 for them. STUDENTS, go here!

Dr. Nickel was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Staff was professional and efficient. Overall a great experience (and much better than the optical clinic at the University!).
