Most service centers charge an upfront diagnostic fee of $50–$100 unless you proceed with the repair through them. However, I had my MacBook Pro diagnosed here, and despite the repair options being limited, I wasn’t charged anything for the diagnostics. I ultimately decided to go for a new laptop, and they were completely transparent throughout the process.
