Vision Care Center provide a thorough and friendly experience for new and returning customers. The staff is nice, professional, and attentive, making patients feel welcomed and comfortable. Appointments are detailed and patient, with careful contact fitting and clear explanations of lens options, discounts, and insurance coverage. The clinic is spacious and equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, has a pleasant spacious for eye care needs. The manager and doctors spend time ensuring each person finds the perfect pair of glasses, walked through the process with patience and a personable vibe. Customers describe the service as outstanding, fabulous, and genuinely enjoyable, and many plan to return for eye care.
Vision Care Center is not only the best at their business of measuring and fitting your eyes, they are incredibly customer-focused in everything they do. We have already commented on that before and now you should see how well they do for their customers. After moving to the island in March, I began trying to find an optometrist willing to order any prescription lens I need from Winchester in NY. Why? Well, back in the 80's every time I fell off my windsurfing board I also lost my $200/pair contacts (note: price was high in the 80's for these as they were in their infancy). A few losses like this were becoming too much, so I took a chance on a "sports doctor" who advertised also being an optometrist. He told me, even if I never lost another pair of contacts I should never consider using them again. Instead, he asked me to try this new sports lens made by and sold by Corning (yes, the glass makers!, and who eventually sold their patents/product to Winchester, NY). Why? Because they are specially tempered (almost never break), are transitions from a level of amber to another level of amber, and because they are glass the salt from the water (repeat after me) never, ever, never, ever cakes up to make you miss that next wave, gust, etc. after you apply Rain-x or other Auto Glass to it!!! A week later I walked out of his office with a 2nd back-up pair which featured a slight darker amber then going even darker in the sun. I also discovered that good frames make a difference. All 3 frames I now have for this are all Vuarnet, vintage 70's/80's. They have lasted me 35+ years! And, yes, I have been using Winchester lenses for all these decades. I've been in two serious windsurfing crashes (no one hurt!) and several falls coming off a wave the wrong way. If they didn't break by then, it's doubtful they ever will. Oh, and a final but very, very meaningful benefit if you enjoy "wind/water sports" -- so windsurfing, kiting, winging and even surfing like the downwind from Molokai: with these lenses, I can usually make out the wind line with very good accuracy --- nothing like being prepared for that 30mph gust punch. :-) And now, WITH SO MUCH THANKS TO DR. RAMIREZ WHO STEADFASTEDLY PERSISTED despite some issues that caused delays getting the lens on my frames, if you are a customer at Vision Care Center Of Hawaii you can order these lenses! Again Dr. Ramirez, thank you for all you do!
I’ve been going to vision care for 40 + years , even after Dr Ede Retired, Dr Ramirez took over his practice and I’ve been seeing her ever since the exchange. I’ve had the best caring understanding and fun visits at vision Care with excellent attention. Dr. Ramirez is very personal and pays attention to little details of my health issues in the past and present, knowing my family history in eye care . I always look forward to my next visit once a year or twice a year depending on what’s happening in my vision, but never a dull moment always pleasant and very personable. I purchased well over 10 pairs of eyeglasses over the years and have always been very satisfied with the quality and how Dr. Ramirez staff handles their duties, they are alway friendly and fun to work with, they handle they’re patients with professionalism and very attentive. I recommend vision care if you’re looking for Doctors who care’s for each patient and are very personable and professional in what they do and how they care for each patient needs individually . 5 star ⭐️ for sure 👍🏾
The Vision Care Center of Hawaii accepted my insurance and we had a smooth experience from start to finish. Both me and my daughter had our exam done. The team was helpful and the doctor was really thorough in doing the exam. Dr. Ramirez answered all my questions about our prescriptions. They had a great selection of frames and my daughter is super excited to wear glasses after her exam. We are so lucky to have access to such an experienced doctor and team!
