Out of the three painting companies I reached out to, Pristine Painting was the only one that responded right away. They called me within 24 hours and scheduled an in-person walkthrough of our home and the work that needed to be done. The other companies simply asked me to send photos. From that first meeting, I could tell Pristine was professional, knowledgeable, and thorough.
We have never had our house professionally painted before. Over the years, it was always an uncle or family member painting different parts of the house. This was the first time we decided to have the entire exterior done professionally—and I am so glad we did.
We also had some serious issues that went beyond painting, including major leaks under one of our porches. With Hurricane Lala on its way, we were worried. The Pristine crew finished sealing and painting the porch the DAY BEFORE the hurricane hit. When the storm came—NO LEAKS. Everything was watertight! That alone told us the quality of their work.
They didn't just paint our house. They caulked and sealed pukas, addressed areas where water could get in, and took care of carpentry work that needed to be done, including replacing and reinforcing decking materials. They were incredibly thorough.
The entire exterior took about a week to complete. Yes, it cost us a pretty penny—but it was totally worth it! And I should add that Pristine's pricing was comparable to the other companies that provided quotes based only on photos. The difference was that Pristine actually came to our home, walked the property with us, identified what needed to be repaired and sealed, and took the time to understand the job before giving us an estimate. We now understand the difference between simply painting a house and having the job done professionally and done RIGHT.
And I have to mention the crew. They were courteous, kind, and respectful of our home. Both my husband and I work from home, so I was also grateful that we weren't listening to loud music all day. Instead, they played beautiful nāhenahe Hawaiian music, with an occasional Jawaiian tune. Such a small thing, but it made having a crew around the house for a week really pleasant.
I honestly cannot say enough about Pristine Painting. We are already planning to refurbish our decking next year, and I know who I'll be calling.
