After being served a kanak attack from Button Up Cafe, I came waddling in to see my favorite hairstylist, Carina. I moved to the mainland a few years ago but always wait to cut my hair whenever visiting Oahu. Carina first won my trust and repeat patronage in 2010, when she lopped my mid-back length hair to a beautiful, meticulously, trimmed medium fade combover. Most barber shops don’t use straight razors to get deep into a fade or line up, but Carina is Jedi master with it and makes shaves baby butt smooth. Took grandma for a trim. They actually picked up their phone. Said just come in. Parking right out front. Took us right away. She was happy, so I’m happy. And she is NOT an easy woman to please. Or to tolerate for that matter.
