Completed my YTT here in 2018 and it was the best decision. Extremely knowledgeable team and wonderful town, Paia. Fantastic studio to practice at daily.

Beautiful studio down the quieter road. We didnt take a class but rented the unused studio for an hour to do our own flow. Space was bright and calming. Will come back for a class soon!

Okay, its Maui but seriously check your enchantment at the door. I found this training through the Yoga Alliance website. I booked, planned and made the time to attend the 300 hour training (a month). We (4 of us in 300 hour training) were grouped in with the 200 hour trainees and quickly realized that we were actually IN the 200 hour training. Albeit lasting one week longer than the 200 hour, the last week had no set curriculum for us. We did not receive ADVANCED TRAINING beginning on day one that you would in an exclusive 300 hour training. One of the trainees left (she was quite advanced in her practice and this training, presented this way was NOT what she needed). My dilemma was that I made so many arrangements to get there I felt I needed to complete this "mission". JUST MAKE SURE IF YOU SIGN UP FOR A 300 HOUR TRAINING THAT YOU WILL BE IN AN EXCLUSIVE TRAINING FOR 300 HOUR STUDENTS!!!!! ASK FOR A COPY OF THE CURRICULUM!!!! (which Nadia appears to make up as she goes). With that being said, I think if you are a 200 hour student this is a nice training place to get certified. The teachers on staff are so amazing. The experience with your Sangha in the student house is so meaningful and you will gain an instant Ohana with the entire group. The teachers - - the teachers!!!! I cannot say enough about Shakta, Sage, Jennifer, Karen and Lee. THEY ARE WHAT I TAKE AWAY FROM THIS EXPERIENCE! Their expertise! I do feel like I learned from each one of them even though I did not receive the advanced training I expected. They made this trip a success for me. I HAVE TO FOCUS ON THIS BECAUSE THE 8K I SPENT COMPLETING THIS CANNOT BE A TOTAL WASTE. BE AWARE THAT THE PROPRIETOR, NADIA is not what she appears to be. You may notice quickly how non-yogi this woman is even though she will tell you (over and over) how honest she is, how the money means nothing, how she created the industry, blah blah blah. If you are one of the beautiful YOUNG yogis that she chooses to covet with her praise and attention (and she always picks one) you probably won't notice. So many inappropriate and selfish things you may need to overlook with this person. My lesson is that not everyone practicing "yoga" is a yogi no matter how much they attempt to portray their virtue. Just ignore it as much as you can and concentrate on all the other teachers - your student Sangha and your practice. It's heartbreaking that this woman feels she can cheat honest loving people but not everyone in the world is what they claim to be. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS AND MAKE YOUR OWN DECISION. Maui is enchanting! Just make sure you are getting what you expect and paid for. ASK QUESTIONS! ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE SIGNING UP FOR THE 300 HOUR TRAINING!!!

I am so thankful that I chose the Maui Yoga Shala to complete my YTT 200 Hr. Training. Nadia, Shakta, Karin, Sage & Jennifer are all top tier instructors with decades of experience in their respective fields. I feel prepared to confidently teach yoga classes & basic breath work & meditation. I highly recommend this school for people who want to deepen their personal practice and/or become certified to teach. The location in Paia, Maui is lovely & the student housing option was great. I now have a new circle of beautiful humans who are family to me.Each teacher brings light & love to share with their students.Michelle Ocheltree

I am SO glad I listening to the YES I felt in my heart when I found the Shala online while looking for where to train. My Yoga Teacher Training experience here was absolutely life transformative. I anticipated learning how to teach a yoga class, but received much more. It really is a homecoming to the truth and love that is all of our true nature. From morning meditation and chanting on the beach, classes that deepened my embodied understanding of Yogic Philosophy, trauma informed teaching methodology, hiking meditations, all the way through to practicum, the training was well rounded and transformational. We (my husband and I) stayed at the house with the other trainees, which I would highly recommend! It was wonderful to cook together in the evenings and laugh under the stars. We created life-long friendships. Being so close to the ocean, I was able to watch the sunrise every morning and swim in the beautiful waters of Baldwin in the evening. Maui is an absolutely perfect place to train, the island is magnificent, healing, nourishing.I highly recommend joining the Shala Ohana. Shakta, Nadia, Jennifer, and all of the teachers and staff are deeply kind. Call them if you have any questions- they are so helpful!

I really enjoyed my three weeks at the Maui Yoga Shala for the 200 hour yoga teacher training in Paia. I stayed at the rental house, and that was great, too. It was very close to the restaurants, shops and beach. I had a clean and spacious room. I liked the 20 minute walk to the Shala with my classmates everyday.I think the best part was the teachers. We learned a variety of topics and each teacher had their own individual style. Shakta, the Studio Manager, was very welcoming and we had adventures every Thursday. Nadia, the owner, is an excellent teacher with high expectations. Her love for yoga shines through. She is intuitive and strait forward, so you know when she gives you a complement, you've earned it. My group of other classmates were also great. I really enjoyed my experience and hope to visit again soon. I would recommend it for anyone wanting to do a yoga teacher training immersion.
