My mom and Dad live on Kauai. My Dad is disabled and they frequent the resort for meals.

From my Mom:

We went to Koa Kea yesterday. It doesn’t look like anything happened. They have it cleaned up so nice now. They take such good care of me and Dad. The valets don’t even ask if we need help with the wheelchair. The just get it out of the trunk as soon as we pull.
They always make us feel appreciated and welcome.
We were the only ones sitting having something to eat at the pool and there was a couple people sitting at the bar from Germany that I was talking to. It was so nice to get out. Erin the bartender is so sweet to us. Thank you for making them feel welcomed!

The rooms were nice and we got lucky our ocean view was a direct view rather than a technical “ocean view” from the side, beach access was easy and just a couple minute walk. However being blindsided by $50 resort fees and $40 parking fees DAILY at checkout is something I am not pleased with at all considering the price that was already paid upon booking. This did not happen when I stayed in Maui recently so I was not expecting it.

Edit: Still, I would not stay anywhere else as this location is hard to beat.

Rooms were nice and clean. Service was great overall. Traci stuck out the most. He provided excellent service.

One negative - There was a hurricane nearby and I felt like the staff didn’t communicate well as to what’s going on. My room was on the ground floor facing the ocean. It may have been no big deal and but I’m not from there. They should communicate procedures and what we should do in case it gets bad.
