Architecture is gorgeous. Design includes effective use of cross-ventilation throughout. Tasteful uncluttered quality furnishings and decor.
The property is diverse, from wild ironwood forests, rocky shoreline, to tended gardens for beauty and food.
The owner Jean, is sweet and knowledgable. Thanks to her help in protecting this natural environment, we all can now enjoy it.
This is one of the most idealic and peaceful locations and stays I've ever been on. The peace that surrounds you once you step foot in the door. The views are amazing, the wind blowing through the trees and into the rooms is heavenly. As others may have mentioned, there is no AC, the ceiling fans and open windows are all that are needed. There are no TVs in the rooms, for which I was thankful for. There is a big screen TV room above the lobby if one is needed. They conserve energy and run on solar which is really impressive. Jeanne was incredibly sweet and more than accommodating. The salt water pool is divine, yoga studios are here as well. I can't rate high enough....read full review
My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon in April of 2025. It’s a lovely location. April isn’t peak travel season for big island and this is a retreat not a resort. We arrived and checked in without problem. After a quick tour of the property we were shown our bungalow. It was perfect for us. There might have been one other guest there the 3 days we stayed. No one bothered us we even slept with the curtains and windows open. So peaceful with the sound of the wildlife and waves crashing on the stones at the base of the cliff 100 feet from our bungalow door. Sunrise and sunset was stunning.
