I was fishing with Jay yesterday and although we didn't put a fish in the boat we had a great time. We had 1 marlin on and raised 2 others. Other boats were having similar luck .Jay worked hard to put us on fish and went out of he way to show us a very large pod of porpoise
Had a great time with Jay. He knew what he was doing we got 2 Marlin one about 150, one about 250-300. He proves that he has been doing this forever and has it down! Good conversation lots of info and lessons. The only downfall is that we really wanted our son to be involved and have a part in the experience. That was not allowed and or encouraged. And our son might as well have not been there he didn't even ask his name. So that made the trip boring for him. I don't think he has much experience with kids in general some people don't and that is absolutely fine. Yes you have to bring your one food, drinks, and lotion so what? He tells you upfront. I had 2 bags and towels and he was completely fine with that. If you are looking for a foo foo fishing trip don't call Jay. If you want a real life fishing trip and a valuable informational fishing trip he is your guy! And beets everyone's price hands down
Jay's the man. If you are fishing for conversation, compliments and likes on instagram, you will be disappointed. If you are fishing for the chance to catch tuna, marlin and mahi mahi than you've come to the right place. The guy is 75 years old. His prices are fair and he's fished these waters for decades. Just watch him and you might learn something. He handles everything himself. Every movement is done with intention. Jay wants to catch fish. They're his fish. If you want some fish, I suggest you talk about that upfront. But don't expect to get a piece of the 300lb marlin. It's all or none. We caught fish, we ate fish and we learned a little something. That's all I was looking for. I hope to be like Jay some day. Thanks for making my wife's 29th birthday one for the record book!
