About Chayanid
Chayanid is a well-regarded hair salon located about 8 miles south of the Kona Airport. It is popular among both tourists and locals, offering quality haircuts at reasonable prices—$20 for men's haircuts and $25 for short women's cuts. Customers appreciate the skillful stylists who take their time to ensure a good result, with many reporting satisfaction regardless of who cuts their hair. The salon has a friendly atmosphere, and there are chairs outside for waiting customers. Some visitors have noted issues with appointment calls going to voicemail and discrepancies in operating hours, but overall, Chayanid is praised for delivering great haircuts.
Sure, it's just a haircut. But if you're a tourist wondering if you'll trust someone new to cut your hair because you showed up with hair too shaggy for this weather... well I took a chance here and got a good haircut! (A scissors cut, she took her time and was really figuring out my haircut.) Though located near-ish the main tourist drag, I did notice that locals come here. So that must be a good sign too.
Arrived at 11 am on a Wednesday morning and they could take my husband in 15 minutes. He looks AMAZING!! Stylist did a wonderful job with scissors, shaved the back of his neck too. Was super nice and conversational. $20 Men's Haircuts and Short Women's Haircuts $25 Women's longer hair cuts Called twice on our way and just got voicemail, so was concerned that he might not get an appointment. No problem at all. When my husband said, "I'll just get a haircut when we get there", I was afraid that he'd go to a really cheap bad place or his cut would be super expensive on the Island. He got an incredible haircut for a terrific price. Exponentially better than the drop-in place at home. Some chairs outside while you wait. Chayonid is located 8 miles south of the Kona Airport off Hwy 19 (15-16 min drive).
Everytime I go, I'm always satisfied w/ the end product regardless of who's cutting it since my hairstyle is basic & simple.Google needs to get their hours right. For example, today on a Saturday, they close at 5 not 4.
