Maui Optometry has a long history on the island, dating back to 1955 when Harry Anzai, one of the first optometrists on Maui, started his practice in old Wailuku town. In 1984, his son David joined the practice, and in 2005, Linda Nguyen, a graduate from the University of Houston, became an associate doctor. In 2012, Linda purchased the family practice and updated the name to Maui Optometry. In 2015, she built a new home for the practice in Maui Lani Village Center. Patients praise the friendly and professional staff at Maui Optometry, highlighting the excellent customer service from check-in to check-out. The office is modern and stress-free, with updated facilities that make visits comfortable for everyone. The staff are very helpful and patient, assisting patients in choosing lenses and frames that fit their lifestyle and comfort. Dr. Nguyen is known for being knowledgeable and helpful, explaining conditions clearly and allowing plenty of time for questions. Many visitors, including those on vacation, have had great experiences, with some stating it’s the best optometrist they have been to in over 20 years. The clinic’s approach is caring, making eye exams easy and stress-free, and avoiding dilation eye drops that can cause discomfort.
