I have had wonderful experiences with the entire staff at Sacred Healing Arts. We used their midwifery services when my daughter was born five years ago. This review is specific to one of their doctors, Dr. Kathryn Taketa-Wong. We began using Dr. Kathryn Taketa-Wong as my daughter’s primary doctor following her birth. As is common with growing toddlers, they get sick from time to time. To say that Dr. Taketa-Wong is attentive during these times, is an understatement. She not only treated my daughter’s sickness, but she was available the whole time to “coach us through it” too. As concerned parents, this service was invaluable to put us at ease and equip us to give our daughter the best care as she healed. A few years back, I myself began to have some concerning health issues. I attended my regular physician at Kaiser for several years trying to resolve my health problems. Needless to say, my health never improved under their treatment and my overall outlook diminished. Reflecting on the excellent service, we had received at Sacred Healing Arts, I decided to reach out for some health advice and assistance. From my first meeting with Dr. Taketa-Wong I knew I was dealing with someone special. My favorite thing: SHE LISTENS! I know this may seem simple, but anyone who has been through the traditional medical system before, knows exactly what I mean. It seems that all of my “traditional” doctors never took the time to LISTEN. I would go in and explain all of my symptoms and the things that I had tried so far. Those doctors would just look at me blankly while I talked and, in the end, they would start me over at the beginning and suggest I try things I had tried a million times. This is not the case with Dr. Taketa-Wong! She listened and understood what I was communicating regarding my symptoms. She listened and understood what the treatments I had tried in the past. At that point, she said the following, “I understand where you are. I want you to know, that I want to work with you as a team to achieve your optimal health outcomes.” Right after that she had me do a barrage of tests to see what was going on at the “base” level. It was clear, that she was only vaguely interested in treating the symptoms of my sickness. She wanted to know what was the root cause, too. In the end, she figured out what was causing my years of nausea and stomach cramps. Ironically, it was something that the Kaiser doctors had never even heard of…I’m serious. Through her care and supplementation recommendations, I am nausea free…after over 10 years. She healed me of the stomach issue in a matter of weeks! As I told her the last time I was in her office, “Dr. Taketa-Wong…you give all other doctors a bad name!” I don’t say that hyperbolically. She is a caring individual who will work with you to achieve your perceived optimal health state. I can recommend her and her team, without reservation, for anyone looking to be healed by a caring professional. Trust me…after the first visit, you will be spoiled!!
I have twins with Autism. One is severe that repeatedly shows his regressions, the other one is high functioning that always shows her progress. Both of them had experience of seizures, and constant respiratory and allergy symptoms since they were born. Dr. Taketa-Wong has been walking through this journey with us almost 7 years. She commits to finding out the uniqueness and needs to each twin. We had comprehensive blood tests, lab test, and many times, we have to ship those samples to the specialty mainland labs. Most test results are usually too detailed for me to understand but Dr. Taketa-Wong takes her time to explain and piece the puzzle together with me. Those pieces are coming from me and my husband genes like MTHFR (methylation), vaccines, medications that they can not tolerate, IgG and IgE (the reaction from foods and environments that they have intolerance to), Oxidative stress and so on! I would have never been aware those factors, if we didn’t see specially trained Autism doctor, Dr. Taketa-Wong. Her knowledge is not only in her specialty of natural medicine but she has a global knowledge in eastern and western medicine. Dr. Taketa-Wong is very humble, and easy to talk to and always working with the twins pediatrician. In the past, she communicated with twins' dentist and anesthesiologist when they had to go dental treatment. Her professional manner to see a whole child helps us a lot and lightens burdens.
Dr. Taketa-Wong recently helped me through a bout with a UTI. With her advice, and the use of an herbal tincture and essential oils, we were able to prevent the UTI from becoming worse, and to eliminate it without having to use antibiotics. I am so grateful.
