I was so pleased with the bathroom renovations Trevor and his Ion Builders crew did for me several years ago. So when I was ready to take on a kitchen renovation and house painting, there was no question that I wanted to work with him again. The excellent quality of work goes without saying. It's the additional details that I really appreciate: the consistent communication throughout the project; my questions and concerns were addressed; I always knew what was happening with the various stages of the reno; his crew was delightful to work with, respectful of my home and furnishings, checked with me throughout on various details, arrived on time each day and left the house each evening after cleaning up as much as they could. One final note: I didn't fully appreciate Trevor's decision to install my new range and dishwasher when he first told me. But I came to realize what a gift that was as his crew really worked hard to make sure they were installed correctly. I have happily recommended Trevor Yee and Ion Builders to others for their renovations and I look forward to many years of enjoying my new kitchen.

If you are looking for quality craftsmanship and a trustworthy contractor, then I highly recommend Trevor Yee at Ion Builders. After months of debate, I finally moved forward with converting my tub to a shower. The end result was well worth the down time without a shower and the inconvenience of construction work. Trevor was responsive, professional, and reliable. If these are important considerations, then Trevor is your contractor. When all was said and done, my most important critic -- mom -- said, "It's beautiful." Who knew that my new shower would turn out to be my favorite retreat.

Go to Instagram and check out Trevor Yee and look for photos under "Kapiolani Bel-Aire" for before and after pictures. My mom's 49 year old unit was in dire need of improvements. It didn't need to be sleek but it did need to be modernized and more functional. I am embarrassed to admit that the only research I did was on Yelp and the DCCA license site. I contacted 3 contractors. One was a no-show. One stopped replying to my emails. The most stressful part of this whole process was picking out what was going to be put in the residence. He gave me suggestions of where to go (from cheap to expensive) and what I shouldn't be spending my money on. I had no worries about what the outcome would be. Trevor was able to answer all my questions and make suggestions. His whole demeanor made me confident that things would go well. I knew the renovation would be longer than quoted and that there would be additional costs. I was quoted 6 weeks. Industry professionals and friends who have gone through the process told me it would take months. It took 6 weeks and 3 days. I had arbitrarily budgeted 10% more for extra contractor costs/fees but thankfully, it wasn't that high and all additional costs were not a surprise. They were either stated in the contract or it was extra work I had requested after the project started. Long story short: yes, I would recommend Ion Builders. Easy to work with. Got the job done in a timely manner and within the financial range I had expected. Trevor was very professional and calming during the whole process. Definitely glad we did the renovation (delayed it for years) and that we chose Ion Builders.
