Uncovering the Unknowns: Daniel helped me recognize 'unknown unknowns'—crucial skills many beginner drivers overlook. He taught me precise visual cues for turns and techniques to sharpen my situational awareness. While session one was packed with driving, it also included a wealth of driving 'academics,' memorable acronyms, and strategies I'd never encountered.

Undoing Bad Lessons: Daniel dismantled unhelpful habits from previous instructors. One past mentor taught me only 'shuffle steering' and reacted to small mistakes with insults and political tangents. In contrast, Daniel kept everything respectful and professional and focused on skill-building. At one point, I hit a curb and drove over it, and he recognized the mistake but positively encouraged me to keep going.

Encouragement Over Critique: When I made mistakes, like hitting a curb, Daniel responded with encouragement rather than criticism. This approach was a breath of fresh air, motivating me to keep improving.
After just two sessions, I felt ready to drive with my father, who usually struggles to stay calm with new drivers. Thanks to Daniel's guidance, even he felt optimistic about my driving—a true reflection of how well Daniel prepared me.

“I was a bit hesitant about taking lessons from About Driving LLC, but I'm glad I took the chance! Mr. James Onishi is a wonderful instructor. His responses were prompt and I was able to start my lessons quickly without much wait time. For a long time I was nervous on the road, but from the first lesson I felt the most comfortable I'd ever been behind the wheel. Mr. Onishi's lessons were tailored to my needs and as a person that needs objective instructions, he was able to provide clear and simple step-by-step guides and markers for skills like parking. His vehicle is very easy to drive and what I appreciate most is he let me choose where to meet and where to end each lesson. He has a very funny but level-headed demeanor (imagine your cool asian uncle). Of the schools I researched, he was the only one that offered the best in convenience (in location), availability, and price. I would highly recommend taking lessons from Mr. Onishi.“
