About Diamond Head Theatre
Diamond Head Theatre, known as Hawaii's Broadway of the Pacific, has been providing live community theatre since 1915, making it America's third oldest continuously operating theater group. The new theater, completed in January 2023, impresses with its beauty and offers a welcoming atmosphere filled with the aloha spirit. Recent productions, such as "The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940" and "My Fair Lady," showcase high-quality acting, stunning costumes, and great music. Attendees appreciate the friendly staff and the affordable ticket prices. The venue also provides performing arts classes, theater camps, and volunteer opportunities, making it a vibrant community hub for all ages. Visitors note that the productions are always good, often funny and enjoyable, though some mention that the dance performances can be a little weak compared to other shows at DHT. The theater has been praised for its great plays and outstanding cast, attracting visitors from different places, including flying from Maui just to enjoy the performances. Improvements such as expanded ladies' restrooms and the option to bring reusable spill-proof cups into the theater have enhanced the experience. Outdoor seating has been added with benches outside, though some feel there could be more. Overall, the remodeled theater continues to be a fantastic venue, highly recommended for its quality shows and welcoming atmosphere.
Congratulations to the entire cast, and the creative and production staffs of A Chorus Line. Having been prevented from seeing live theatre for over a year, it was quite thrilling to experience this great production! Great work from each one of you! Thank you for keeping this piece alive!
