Hair services in Kalihi, Honolulu, Hawaii... My friend mentioned that she was thinking about getting a "perm". We both had permanents back in the day. It was less cumbersome than using curling irons and hot rollers. I thought about it and searched my Yelp app for an economical salon after I decided to get a perm, too. I found Aloha Hair Salon in a busy strip mall (formerly called Belt Collins Mall), next to Jack In the Box. Located in the corner, to the right of Subway, a security guard was stationed at the beginning of the hallway that leads to the locked restroom... so it's a safe environment with free shared parking. Hannah is a competent, professional, and polite business owner. She has been there for over 25 years! She was knowledgeable as she selected appropriate equipment according to our hair thickness. Hannah took my friend first, and I was able to watch her wash, cut, and style with confidence, efficiency, and gentleness. Her kind gesture of making us cups of coffee and chatting with us made us comfortable. The cozy shop was air-conditioned and got cold after a couple of hours - even with the door open to let out the chemical odor. My friend really liked the Christian radio station that played calming music. Overall, we had an excellent experience together! My friend reassured me that cutting off 6 inches of damaged hair was a good thing! LOL! We were also very happy with the reasonable price!

They listen and ask how I want my hair and it turns out how I want it. People here are very friendly and nice. Feels like a family member is cutting or doing my hair :3 wish they were in town side (ala moana area) closer for me. Just sometimes u gotta beat the traffic or be in one. Recommend to try get a simple or semi-fancy hair cut. :)
