Scheduling and communication with Tokunaga Family Dentistry was fine. On my appointment date I was contacted early in the morning that my dentist would be late, well past my scheduled time. I would not have been able to accommodate the change so I rescheduled. I get it, things happen.

On my rescheduled appointment I was quickly taken back into a treatment area. My identity was never confirmed, I was never asked if I had any concerns, x-rays were immediately taken.

The Dentist entered the area and quickly introduced himself. Very fast talker; he expressed that he did not agree with the referral and proceeded to place topical medication over an area away from my primary issue.

I asked that he stop. With the initial re-schedule, the absence of confirmation, and the open disagreement from the Dentist, I was completely apprehensive that my best interests were considered.

While front office communication was fine, the back office communication was not.

This was by far, the least professional Dental Office visit I’ve experienced in my life.

I want to be clear, I am not telling anyone not to patronize this practice. I am simply sharing my experience. I’ve since contacted my referral manager and will be going elsewhere.

The Tokunaga Family are the kindest, most patient, helpful dentists I’ve ever seen. I had a stressful experience with an emergency root canal that was done 13 years ago. Since then, I’ve had multiple dentists work on my tooth but I’ve never been happy with the results of their work. After I needed a reentry root canal, Dr. Taylor and Dr. Joji took time to make me feel comfortable that they could restore my tooth while being as conservative with my natural tooth as possible. They even fit me into their very busy schedule to accommodate my short trip to Oahu. I’m so grateful to them for taking such great care of me and making me confident in my smile again.

If I could give zero star i definitely would ! I absolutely do NOT recommend dr.tenjoma !! I went there for a wisdom tooth extraction , they numbed me didn’t even really talk to me before the procedure just went right on in. during the procedure the numbing wore off COMPLETELY as he was pulling I could feel EVERYTHING , I am a grown women and I was gripping the assistants shirt , crying , kicking my feet telling him to STOP but he still proceeded to continue! ASSAULTING me because I have every right to stop a procedure ! after about 10-15mins of straight PAIN & him saying “5more mins 5more mins” while I am NOT numb at all!! He finally stopped and after all that PAIN AND SUFFERING he didn’t even succeed to pull my wisdom tooth out ! I was crying he was talking to me like it was my fault that I wanted to stop , the way he was talking to me was so disgusting ! No sympathy not even a damn sorry just stuck a gauze in my mouth blood on my
Mouth & tried to call other offices to finish the job he started. he said the “tooth popped back in” & I was given the max amount of anesthesia. RIDICULOUS!!! DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DOCTOR AT ALL !!! Search him up before you go to him because all his bad reviews are similar !!!!

Today I asked to be seen due to a tooth that needs extraction. I am going on a trip and wanted to know what to do with it. The staff are really very nice but I was so disappointed with how Dr. Penjoman treated me. I was like a 2 yr old being scolded by a very rude dentist. I had never been treated this way by the Tokunaga family. I had been a patient for a long time. As I quote " I am not going to remove that tooth. If you want go to that where you are going" I just hoped he would have instructed me to what to do with my tooth while on vacay. He kept giving me a sermon. He literally was so rude. Don't get your services from such a tactless person.

My teeth were absolutely wrecked from my military time and I thought there was no hope in being able to smile normally again. I took a leap and contacted Dr. Camden to schedule an evaluation, thinking it would be a nightmare and embarrassing process. From the first time I came in though, I felt at ease and was taken care of in a professional manner unlike the other dental practices I’ve encountered here just trying to make a buck. Since then I’ve had 3 appointments and procedures that have completely changed my life and appearance. I’ve gone from being completely embarrassed to meet people by making bad first impressions with bad teeth, to being completely confident now and getting compliments on my smile. Dr. Camden saw the kind of state I was in before, and went above and beyond to help me. He and his staff are definitely the best I’ve ever encountered. If you’re looking for kind and comforting professionals all while supporting local business, this is the practice I’d recommend.
