Reasonable wait time. Feels like a classic local spot. Came around 2 pm on a weekday & waited about 20-30 minutes on a holiday. Saw both an elderly (looked like a regular with how chatty he was) with a female companion and a young client; looks like it’s a good place for all ages to visit.
The friendly stylist that’s here on Mon-Tue. I overheard the conversation as a younger client was paying & chatting. She appears to be a requested one, that’s why she said she’s here on said days. The local I came with said he used to come on Fridays or at times after office hours, so he hasn’t seen this stylist before.
Now the stylist would ask what you want (trim a little, etc.) and would go straight to doing it carefully. They would spray water on a bottle onto the hair and cut with scissors gently. Also used the razor carefully by section for the thick parts. I like the attentiveness of the stylist to the requests & how she confirmed and adjusted carefully.
I like the mirrors and how easy it is to see the progress in the hair-cutting process.
Companions can wait freely inside and watch TV too (if you don’t mind that it’s not English at times, some shows had English captions and others didn’t; it’s good and entertaining). At that time, the show I watched while waiting was in Korean and both stylists spoke it too besides English.
After a client’s haircut was done, they both would confirm if you like your haircut. Since the clients all left with smiles, I guess it’s good for them. I liked the output on the one I came here with too.
The friendly stylist built rapport with us well, enjoyed the visit.

I waited a long time for a rubbish cut. It was never my turn. The service was terrible. Others who came later were cut first. Very bad experience! Better not to choose this place. Waited an hour and still not your turn!

If you have all day to wait for a haircut then this is the place for you. Not worth the long wait! We ended up leaving after waiting over an hour with no haircut. Find another barber that works faster.

Mikey has been cutting my hair since I was in High school. Yes, the wait it's a little much but he's always busy that shows something. He used to be in Kalihi and many of us followed him. Mahalo Mike for always taking care of me!
