I wish I could say my experience at Gentle Dental Aiea has been positive, as I used to love this place since I was a kid. Unfortunately, my recent visits have left me incredibly disappointed, and I feel the need to share my experience so other’s don’t get scammed.

First and foremost, the financial staff's unhelpfulness has been a significant issue for me. After experiencing repeated issues with my permanent retainers breaking, I requested a refund due to what I believe is subpar service. Instead of getting the understanding and assistance I hoped for, it feels like they are avoiding my requests and treating me as if I’m trying to scam them. This is incredibly disheartening.

My braces journey at this office has not been smooth either. I often found that my brackets were breaking easily, even when I was being careful and only consuming soft foods. While the doctor is genuinely sweet and caring, the front desk and financial personnel have not mirrored that kindness. They’ve promised to keep me updated regarding my refund but have failed to follow through, and each time I call, I face either abrupt hang-ups or stalling on the line.

The new financial manager has been particularly frustrating to deal with. She claimed to be unsure of the price for permanent retainers, which makes me question their internal processes. She informed me that they have stopped offering permanent retainers, leaving me to wonder if the issues I faced are more widespread. It seems odd that a dental service would not have clear communication regarding procedures and costs, especially since I worked in a medical front desk environment where such details are crucial.

At this point, I'm beyond caring about the refund. It's more about the lack of support and the feeling of being let down by a place that used to feel like home. I would much rather seek dental care elsewhere—somewhere that values customer service and communication.

Overall, my experience with Gentle Dental Aiea has changed drastically, and I cannot recommend them based on my recent challenges. It genuinely feels like customer service is falling off, which is unfortunate for a business that I once held in high regard.
