I believe the selling dealer was not passing on the correct information. I’m happy and this is why I spent the extra on Sherrod is to have a quality backed product. Thank you. I purchased a $92,000 truck with approximately $25,000 in Sherrod upfitting, expecting a premium product and experience. Unfortunately, that has not been the case.
After just 11 months of ownership, the running boards are already peeling, the fender flare bolts were corroded (now being replaced), and multiple suspension components are showing rust. I was told the running boards are “normal wear” and that the suspension components are uncoated and should simply be sanded and painted.
That is not an acceptable standard at this price point. Being told to sand and paint components on a nearly new, high-end truck is disappointing.
To add to the concern, the dealership even noted that this type of wear is not typical of factory GM components. While I appreciate that the fender bolts are being addressed, the overall quality of the aftermarket parts and the response to warranty concerns have been underwhelming.
Given that this is all occurring within 12 months of ownership and involves clear defects, I am considering escalating this further with my state’s Department of Consumer Protection.
Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Sherrod Customs. I expected far better from a brand positioned as a premium upfitter.”
