Quick story. Of course this has to happen in the middle of massively hot temps or it wouldn't be near as good. Paula and I have been working on our rental house down in Fairhope for the last 3 weeks. I had to come back last week to gather up a few more tools to take back down to the house to finish getting it ready to rent or sale. When I walked into our house last Tuesday, it was 91 degrees IN THE HOUSE, you got it, the A/C went kaput. Thinking I was going to have a $10K + new A/C, I asked for assistance on this site. Lo and behold, many of you answered...thank you very much. I selected McCoy and Son Heating and Cooling to come look at my unit. Lee & Jay came out in a very professional manner. Lee turned out to be a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and we hit it off from the get go. He could have charged me anything he wanted but after an extensive discovery period he found that my only issue was a pretty good leak in the evaporator. I would have assumed I would have to pay for this since my A/C is about 8-10 years old. On his own, Lee called Lennox and had my warranty verified. Went and picked up the evaporator today, came over and professionally installed and recharged my system. My house is now back at 73 degrees! I only had to pay for the labor and refrigerant. The company could have told me $15K and I would have said to do it, but they were much too honest and professional to do so.
