I must say, the Egyptian Styles team handled my grievance the right way! George and Jasmine both expressed their concern and ensured my hair was fixed when I returned on Wednesday. I feel much more confident now that my hair is back to 1B and I will still remain a customer. Thank you Jasmine and George for being so professional and helping this mama feel better about my experience!

So I can only give Egyptian Hair Salon 2 stars. And the reason is not due to how well they were able to style my hair. Quite honestly, they do well at blow-drying and styling hair. However, due to reviews online, I was told to bring my own shampoo and conditioner to avoid potentially having straightener added to my hair. At least twice in the three times that I have visited this place, one of the workers has offered to use their products instead of the ones that I bring because theirs apparently help to detangle better, which is scary to me because I do not have tangled hair and I have easy-to-detangle hair. Most of the time, my hair is naturally pretty straight, even as a Black girl. And I finger-detangle at home. My issue with this salon is due to the owner George wanting to try microlinks on my hair a few weeks back for my first ever visit where I was hoping to have a few tracks sewn to braids, he offered me a good price of $150 and I was grateful and started telling people about his shop! Shortly after he started my hair, even though initially I did not go in there for microlinks, I went in there for a different style, but he offered the microlinks because he wanted to try it. After he started my hair, he then started to complain about how most people pay more for microlinks than what I'm paying for it. And I told him I had no clue about that. And I appreciate the price, considering he also wanted to try out the style on someone. So it was a win-win for both of us. I also tipped him. My next time there, I went for a wash in style of the microlinks. He was unable to add microlinks to the top of my hair, and so we had to glue in additional pieces. While the style did come out nicely, it did ruin the idea of having microlinks and being able to style your hair in any direction. I still tipped him good during that second visit and actually tipped him an additional $5 to add to the tip from my previous visit. Today, I went for my third visit to the salon to take the microlinks out, wash and blow dry my hair and also getting it colored. To take the microlinks out, I was told the price was $35. I visited the location and could see that there was a price list for the wash and blow-dry of my natural hair, which would be $65. That would give me a total of $100 cost to have my hair taken out and washed and blow-dried. However, I additionally wanted a permanent color. Their permanent color is $50, and permanent color should include toner in the color process. Unfortunately, due to the owner, George, wanting to make more money than he deserved, he told me that he was changing his prices and was going to charge me another $50 just for him to put toner on my hair. So he was going to do an incomplete color job unless I paid an additional $50, charging me a total of $200 for my hair to be styled. I want to say that I now know that George and the Egyptian Styling Salon are scammers, and they are just trying to make extra money. While the styling is good, I would rather work with ethical people who are not trying to earn extra money off of me and willing to leave my hair incomplete unless I pay $50 for something that should be included in a coloring service. Lastly, their wash girl left my blouse soaked, I had water all down my shirt and my collar was wet on my work shirt this visit I'll check the Dominican salon it's on the same street and see if it's any better , won't be back here

Im going to start by saying this place is not what I excpeted. I've only been here twice and my last time was my a bad experience. they charged me 2 different prices for a trim . the prices on the wall are not what they are so they need an update on that . shawty was burning my scalp with a blow dryer constantly didn't put no heat protection on my hair I can smell the burning hair . she didn't know that I do hair as well and I can tell she doesn't care about black highly textured hair . I just washed my hair and I have heat damage all over my hair . I was completely upset because I've been doing my hair for the past years and never had heat damage until I came here . I told her your burning me and she continued to just gaslight me into saying I'm moving my head to much (which I wasn't until she damn near burnt my scalp . like why where you even blow drying in the same stop of my head over and over again . just no care for me and my fragil 4c hair . you don't have to have the hair super straight in order to cut the ends which was stupid of her because now my ends are broken off. my hair was coming out in clumps and now my hair is super limp I had to be baptized in deep conditioner.. I wouldn't recommend if you are black maybe someone with a strong texture hair but just don't go here they are scketchy

I'm usually hesitant to leave negative reviews, but today I feel compelled to share my disappointing experience. I paid $50 for a shampoo service for my wig, expecting a standard styling treatment. Instead, they simply submerged my wig in water and returned it to me without any styling or care. When I spoke to the lady present, she was incredibly rude and implied that I was trying to dictate prices, which was not the case. Previously, I had paid for their styling services, but this experience was a waste of $50. It was literally just water!

This is the ONLY place I go. Every stylist is top Tier. I usually go to Racquel. But I've gotten my hair done by most the stylist here and have not been disappointed. Totally do not understand the lower star reviews. I've been coming here for years!

It's always a pleasure to sit in George's chair!! He normally just trims my ends when I straighten my hair once a year but I decided to let him him straighten it and trim my ends and he did an amazing job as always he's always so bubbly and cheerful and has the best sense of humor I'll be back for my color!!

If you have thick long natural hair they may or may not be able to do it. A Hispanic lady whose hair texture is polar opposite of mine was unable to assist me. I came with my hair washed and blow dried, as told over the phone, to receive a hair cut. One of the stylists told me my hair was too puffy and she would have to wash and blow dry it herself. It seemed like she was trying to get more money out of me. My hair is thick and course, and it will be puffy no matter who blow dries it. And I don't want to blow dry my hair twice in a day to avoid heat damage. She didn't have any patience when talking to me about what type of cut I wanted and seemed frustrated and had a slight attitude. She may have been overwhelmed with how much hair I had but if you're not comfortable working on thick long type 4 hair, I would prefer if you give it over to another stylist rather than completely giving up on my haircut.

Came here today for a silk press and received the worst experience of my life. First off the shampoo lady did not know how to properly detangle my hair, she started combing from the root not the ends. While getting a hydration treatment she didn't put the hood fully on my head, therefore I could not feel any stem or heat on my head. This treatment only took 6 minutes normally it take 30 minutes I felt rushed. Next was the blow dry and straightening process, this was done by a different lady. Midway through my hair she tells me '' Next time you come and your is this tangled, you have to pay an extra $20''. Meanwhile the shampoo lady just washed, conditioned, steamed and detangled my hair. My hair was not tangled I just have a different texture than hers (I have 4c hair). It took everything in me to not to leave or curse this lady out. She only made this statement because of the texture of my hair. We as women go through enough judgement on a daily to have to receive the same treatment from a place we come to feel beautiful. I will never come here and give them another dime. This was the worst customer service ever and my hair was not silky pressed it was just look flat ironed nothing special. Also they charge an extra $5 for using a debt card as payment. These people do not know how to work with black women hair nor respect us.Services: Blowouts
