Heritage Golf Links provides a mixed experience for golfers and event hosts. The course layout on the Legacy side is considered a must-play in the Atlanta area, featuring above-average fairways and tee boxes. However, the bunkers are rocky and in poor condition, and the greens are mostly soft and sometimes below average, with some bare spots and inconsistent roll. The Tradition side is less impressive, with average fairways and below-average tee boxes, and the greens are described as horrid, with poor coverage, soft patches, and uneven roll. The bunkers on that side are firm and rocky, adding to the difficulty.
The driving range has mats only on sunny afternoons and these mats are not of good quality. The practice green is small but rolls well, and the short game area includes a well-maintained bunker and a green to chip onto, making it useful for practice. The course's short game facilities offer a decent space to work on skills, though the range could benefit from grass lies during the weekdays.
While the course offers nice views and challenging fairways, the inconsistent greens and bunkers can detract from the experience. Visitors suggest playing the Legacy side over Traditional, which is seen as short and less challenging. The staff's attitude varies, but some employees, especially in the pro shop, are recognized for their friendliness and effort. Rental clubs are available but are sometimes considered to lack quality compared to other courses.
Heritage Golf Links also hosts memorable events, with staff praised for their hospitality during occasions like weddings. Despite some course condition issues, it remains a place that provides a decent golf experience, especially for those looking to enjoy the scenery and challenge. Improvements in greens and bunker conditions could make it even better.
My only issue is the software on the cart screen. It locks up the cart way too often in areas that shouldn’t be an issue. There were multiple times where it locked up while I was on the fairway. One thing that might help would be “no carts” signs on most holes.

Course is in great shape. Staff are warm and welcoming, and the pace of play was fantastic. Shout out to Joseph and staff for making our experience so good - we'll be back!
