Tanning in Statesboro

“Weird how the first 3 times I got a spray tan here they never asked me if I was in a sorority and I paid $10 each time (I assumed there was a student discount since I am a student), but the one time I get asked if I am in a sorority I have to pay $15 because it’s “for sororities only.”Guess I don’t fit the criteria for their target audience clientele.Love the spray tans tho but felt like this was very weird.“

“I recently moved to Statesboro, and on the recommendation of a friend, who is a tenured professor at Georgia Southern, he suggested that I join. I have had two surgeries and onset of an immunocompromised disease in the past three to four years. I gained about 30 lbs, and my cardiovascular system is weak. 180Fitness has several classes taught by Courtney, Holly, Carl and Kate, and they are challenging and accessible to me despite my physical impediments. I do not feel self-conscious in their classes. They understand I may modify poses in yoga, body flow, or pilates. And I am encouraged to do what I need for my body. Courtney pushes her spin class, and I feel more empowered with every class that I go to. Carl gives detailed instruction in his pilates class, and if I can make all of his classes, I may have a waist again. Kate has the most soothing, kind voice that I’ve ever heard. Her body flow class is deceptively difficult even if you are in shape. Holly and Courtney have beautifully sequenced yoga classes, and though I often fall behind, I don’t feel embarrassed. My R foot is unbelievable pain, but I can tell it is stronger. When I need to go the wall for support, I go to the wall. No big deal. Some weeks I am not able to go to class due to my illness, but when I do make the classes, I am always welcomed. I want to do more, and I hope in the future, I can. Sometimes I feel like I can live a life without pain and isolation. In part, my hope springs from a gym in a small town in Ga where I find myself moving again. I only have one friend in this town. But when I go to 180Fitness, I sometimes think that I will make more. I am not stared at and no one asks me if I am pregnant. Tacoma is a beautiful place, but people can be cruel and unkind. I feel grateful to Statesboro and 180Fitness. Some of those 180Fitness weight lifters, who are fabulously ripped, would find their routines taken to the next level by all the classes that I have mentioned. And maybe, in the next few months, they will find me with 2 and 5 lbs weights (haha) right beside of them. Thank you 180Fitness.“
