My recommendation is that you stay away from this Emory site if you require your doctor to have any compassion or empathy. Despite receiving triage via telephone due to extreme pain, I was informed of a three-day wait to see the doctor. Only for you Dr. Kelechukwu Anyanwu, DO, to refuse to see me . upon arrival, I explained to staff that my brief delay was attributable to a misunderstanding regarding the appointment time and mobility issues stemming from pain. To my dismay, I was told I cannot see the doctor and have to reschedule.I was shocked and extremely disappointed. The staff refused to accommodate my request to speak with the doctor, despite explaining my extreme pain. The receptionist and office staff displayed a lack of empathy and care, with an uninviting demeanor towards patients. As a medical professional, prioritizing patient care and well-being is crucial, particularly for individuals experiencing extreme pain and possessing a medical history that includes Sjogren’s disease, Lymphedema, and osteoarthritis. In such cases, a brief delay in arrival should not supersede patient care and well-being.
As a doctor you take an oath to no harm. I don’t think it is wrong for a patient to expect the doctor to be empathetic and flexible. 10min should not have caused you to turn away a patient in great need. I should not have to sit in an emergency room for hours to receive the basic care that my doctor refused to give me.
I’m writing this not for myself but for you ,hopefully treat your future patients better than you treated me today.

I only got ignored with these medical people. Every time I had a problem they would send me to Piedmont Urgent Care. I was basically pushed away. I still can't understand how they were my primary care facility and were sending me to others. I now go to Georgia Clinic for primary care and they have never not taken care of me.

Worst facility I ever visited for follow up care. I have been an Emory patient for over 25 years with no problems getting refills on medication. The pharmacy, Emory refill urgent nurses and myself all tried for over 3 weeks. I made an appointment for medication refills. This request was on my discharge papers. The refills were never addressed. I became ill one Sunday evening and the on call doctor called the meds into the pharmacy within ten minutes I understand from other patients that this has happened to them. They will see you and smile but after that you are on your on.

After 30 minutes on phone waiting and providing all required information, I was asked by the lady when I wanted to see the doctor. I said: in September (now is Aug 25). She replied: no appointments available for new patients until NEXT YEAR! Then she ended rudely.I read other reviews in which say that this location has 1 doctor, that’s why making appointment does take long time. I gave it a try. And now I see it’s true. Better go somewhere else.

Receptionist is extremely unprofessional.I called Wednesday of last week to schedule an appointment with a doctor Ambetter says is still taking new patients, and they didn’t answer. They called back an hour later, when I couldn’t come to the phone. The receptionist left a voicemail saying I’d be called back the following day, but I never received a call. I called back at 2PM the following day, and they still didn’t answer. I tried again at 3:30. No answer.I’ve tried calling during various hours of the day, and still no answer. I haven’t even mentioned the insulting part— the NEW recorded message this week says that this office isn’t accepting new patients. If you’re not gonna do your job, then just stay home and get fired. Save us all the trouble.
