I had a very disappointing experience at Isa African Braiding Hair in Savannah. First off, the customer service was lacking—there was little to no communication, and I felt rushed and ignored throughout the process. The braiders seemed more interested in getting through my hair quickly rather than ensuring quality.
The final result was not what I asked for. The braids were way too tight, causing serious discomfort, and my edges were pulled so much that I was worried about breakage. When I mentioned this, they didn’t seem to care. On top of that, the pricing was inconsistent—I was quoted one price over the phone but charged more when I arrived.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place. If you value good customer service, consistency, and a stylist who actually listens to your requests, you might want to look elsewhere.

If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience at Isaa African Braiding has been the worst, and their lack of professionalism, communication, and basic respect for customers is appalling.
I booked an appointment for a specific hairstyle, confirmed the time (5 PM), and the price ($150). I arrived on time, only to find a different braider in the store. I asked if she could do my hair given its length, and she assured me she could—but then refused to do the style I originally chose because it was already 5 PM (the time her boss gave me). So, after spending money on Uber just to be there on time, I was forced to either change my style or leave.
I decided to rebook for the same style. The day before my second appointment, I called to confirm—specifically to avoid the same issue. Yet, when I arrived, I was met with the same nonsense. After paying $35 EACH WAY for Uber, I got there only to find the braider working on someone else's hair. She asked me if I had an appointment—shouldn't she know? Get your scheduling together!
Then came the real kicker: when I told her my hairstyle, she suddenly claimed she couldn’t braid my hair because it was too short—despite previously telling me she could. I reminded her of our last conversation, but she flat-out denied ever saying so. Instead, I was once again told to change my hairstyle. At this point, I had no choice but to agree.
When I mentioned I only brought the agreed-upon $150, her boss suddenly changed the price because of the style change they forced on me. After some back and forth, the braider reluctantly agreed to do it for $150—but only if she made it extremely short and scanty. Mind you I came with my own hair extensions
This entire situation could have been avoided with proper communication. Instead, I wasted time, money, and energy TWICE just to be met with unprofessionalism and zero accountability. Their lack of organization, disregard for people’s time, and complete absence of empathy is beyond frustrating.
I will never patronize this shop again, and honestly, this experience has made me distrust African braiders in Savannah altogether. Disgusting behavior.

My experience at this place was horrible this morning. First of all I have been getting my hair done every two months for over a year . I always book my appointment in advance and I also call to confirm. The owner is awful and greedy, she over booked about 4 people this morning and had the audacity to tell me to come back at 3:00 . She only thinks about the money she gets and not her customers time!!! Please patronize someone else she very terrible and so unprofessional !!!!The the workers are amazing but sh sucks!!!!

HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!! They must’ve told about 4/5 females to come in at 9am, when I arrived a lady was furious about her appointment time and possibly not being able to get her hair done. I sat for about 8 minutes before the owner asked me to come back at a later time or the next day. They literally pull appointment times and service prices out of their behinds. I will continue to go to Elegance Hair Braiding on Abercorn. A waste of my morning

I'm changing my five star review to 1. Had box braids put in by different women working on my head. One young girl, #1, came and did the back right part of my head, then walked away to do another person's head. Another woman, #2, came and looked at what she did. She called over a woman #3, and they were talking in their native language, now I know about what #1 did. I didn't realize this until several days later when my hair started falling out with the braids in it! In the same exact spot where #1 did my hair! I was FURIOUS!!! So #2 and #3 knew she did something wrong but nevermind told me, and I guess the owner, kept pressuring me to write a Google review. Well, here you go! You made my hair fall out, that was the first and last time I ever went there! And the price? They literally pull it out of their @$$ because she quoted me $200, I said that was too much, then she said $175, I said I can do $150, and she agreed. $150 down the drain for a hair style that lasted a week with my hair falling out!

Horrible, Horrible Customer Service!! I recently got my hair braided at this shop no problem and wanted to get a touch up. First, I had to drive over twice because the phone was not being answered. When I did catch them in the shop, I was able to made an appointment. When I arrived, the lady asked me if “she called me?” Who “she” was I don’t know because the person I was talking to made the appointment. Well, apparently, this “she” was to call me and relay that they were behind and she couldn’t take me today but could tomorrow. I told her no but asked if she could take me this evening to which she replied no and then said she didn’t know when it would be that she could reschedule. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! There was no attempt to remedy the situation nor was there no apology for my inconvenience that “she” - whoever that is - caused! I DO NOT recommend spending your dollars with this establishment! I would have appreciated some attempt to make correct the issue. It really spoke to how much customers are valued at this establishment - ABSOLUTELY NOT AT ALL!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I cannot say that enough!
