Sunu African Hair Braiding Salon

I found Sunu Hair Salon on Booksy. Booked an appointment for Butterfly stitch braids because I was headed to Jamaica. This was the ONLY location that I found who could give me the look I wanted. Such a soft and classy look. Thank you !!

Braids lasted 1 day. I called the same day while to ask them to fix the back. They kept declining my call.

I’ve been going to this salon since January 2024. The main reason I kept returning was because it was the only African salon close to me, and their prices seemed fair.

For every visit, I always made sure to book an appointment. And on the rare occasions when I couldn’t make it on time, I would call ahead to check if it was still okay to come in. However, today, I was deeply disappointed by how the owner of the salon treated me.

Yes, I arrived late and was a bit indecisive about what I wanted to do with my hair—but that should never be an excuse for anyone in a service role to speak so disrespectfully to a customer. I understand that we’re all adults and can have egos, but working in customer service—especially as a hairstylist—requires patience and professionalism. Customers should be allowed to express their frustrations without being belittled or dismissed in such a rude manner.

In the end, she told me to walk out of her salon if I wasn’t satisfied—with a smile, no less. Such arrogance. I made sure to let her know I wouldn’t be returning.

If you’re considering visiting this salon, be aware that while she treats some customers with respect and warmth, others aren’t given the same courtesy. I suppose some of us just aren’t “high-end” enough for her so-called luxurious salon.

Always guaranteed great service at this establishment. After spending so much time and money looking for a good salon in ATL I can comfortably say that they deliver every time. So happy with them, I even refer my friends and family to this establishment ❤️

Amazing fast service. I received box braid. They were beautiful and lasted a long time!

When I got my hair done, the braid started falling out immediately, And I pay too much to be given them for my hair to be fallen out like that the lady said it was too short, but she could’ve just added more hair to it. I wouldn’t recommend going here.

I needed a last minute braid style for an event on a Sunday and these lovely ladies fit me in. I came just for the style, and then I was surprised with how the braids kept me cool during the event! Thank you so much, Sunu.
